Let's start at the beginning...you may be wondering what is Raw Food?
When I first heard about raw food I absolutely thought 'carrots and celery sticks', I had no idea the incredible world that was about to open up to me or the depth of life transformation it would ignite.
A high raw diet is made up of raw vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, sprouted grains, oils, herbs and spices. Generally, raw food is not heated above 118°F (48°C) and therefore it retains the highest amount of nutrients possible. With each raw vegan food class I offer, I inevitably hear people express their amazement at how delicious such healthy food can taste. I encourage you to try it for yourself and just notice how you feel. Both knowledge and experience are necessary before being able to make choices in life, and I am a strong advocate for the fact that you know your own bodies better than anyone else. Each person is so unique. I don’t feel that a completely raw diet is right for everyone, but if you’re curious I suggest you try adding some extra raw foods in and let your body, mind and spirit guide you from there to what level of raw foods is going to work best for you.
Integrating a diet high in raw and living foods is simply going back to our roots. It’s not the latest fad or miracle diet, it is something that has always existed but has been re-discovered in a new way. Eating a high raw diet is one of the best ways to reduce toxic burden, prevent or heal disease and ensure optimal health. Initially, most people notice the positive effect raw food has on energy, performance, mental clarity, mood and sleep. The food you eat affects your health on all levels and, given the right choices, it can support you in deep healing as well as powerful life transformation.
